Ramadan Pide is a traditional Turkish pastry which is mass-produced in bakeries all around the country during the month of Ramadan. It is possible to make Ramadan pide at home. Ingredients: 1 glass of warm milk, 1 glass of warm water, 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil, 1 table spoon of sugar, 1 pack of yeast, salt, 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of yogurt, 1 egg, sesame seeds and black seeds.
How to Make Turkish Ramadan Bread
1- Put the warm water in a bowl and add the yeast and the sugar. Rest for 10 minutes.
2- Add the remaining liquid ingredients and mix; namely vegetable oil and milk.
3-You can now add the all-purpose flour slowly to form a sticky dough.
4- Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
5- When the dough doubles in size, start to knead it until it is nice and soft.
6- You can put the batter onto the baking sheet now.
7- With wet fingers, you can stretch it to all directions to form a round shape. The thickness must be a little thicker than the pizza batter.
8- With oily finger tips, try to form small square shapes on the top of flatbread.
9- In a seperate bowl, mix the egg yolk with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and 1 tablespoon of yogurt.
10- Appy the egg yolk mixture on the top of the Ramadan pide.
11- Sprinkle sesame seeds and black seeds on the very top.
12- Let the flatbread rest for about 10 minutes on the tray covered.
13- Bake the Ramadan pide in a pre-heated oven at 200 degrees until gold brown.
